Kindness applies to our planet too! We envision building a small community around our farm. 3-5 sustainable tiny homes for our staff and interns. This could be done as a community workshop, a college student senior project or an architecture class project. Structures such as Aircrete, Cob, Earthship, Straw Bale, or Passive Solar will be considered. This "eco village" will be an educational example of green living while allowing our caregivers to be close to the animals while providing an income for our animal care expenses.
With lower living expenses, our staff will have to work fewer hours outside of the sanctuary and will have the added benefit of living in a kind and supportive environment. They will be encouraged to use their extra time to help with an organic garden, to explore personal growth, and to engage in service to the surrounding communities.
Living with less stress makes for kinder people who are less anxious and happier overall, creating a model community of kindness while leaving a smaller carbon footprint on our planet. If you would like to contribute to our goal please contact us.
